Yes, a degree is increasingly becoming a nicety but not a requirement. Men are figuring that out and opting out of academia. What I worry about is college not only teaches you knowledge, but wisdom. There's a certain rite of passage in the college experience that you can't always get out of the job market. My father used to tell me, "I don't care what grades you get. I care that you learn to think."

And god knows critical thinking skills are deteriorating. In five years from now...let's discuss again. ;)
