While your actions are putting others in their graves, could you at least leave Ben Franklin to rest peacefully in his? The quote you are using means the complete opposite of what you think it means AND you didn’t even get the quote right.
The real quote:
…those who would give up essential liberty to purchase a little temporary safety deserve neither liberty nor safety.
Franklin wrote those words in 1755 in a letter to Pennsylvania’s colonial governor over a tax dispute. Franklin represented the Pennsylvania Assembly, who needed funds for defense against the French and Indian attacks. (Franklin organized and trained the first Pennsylvania regiments.) The governor of Pennsylvania represented the Penn family, who owned the lands under attack.
To raise defense funds, Franklin needed to tax the Penn family lands. Most of the Penn family was safely in England and didn’t give a rat’s ass who was getting scalped in Pennsylvania. So they instructed the governor to veto Franklin’s taxation request.
Always the peacemaker, Franklin advised a compromise. In exchange for the defense money he needed, the colonies would acknowledge that they had no right to tax the Penn family.
In other words, Franklin was not defending individual liberties. He was defending the right to govern the people in the interests of collective security — precisely what vaccines are TRYING to do.
The quote means the complete opposite to how you are using it for your dumbass argument.
That concludes my history lecture. Now stay home and stop infecting others.
