If you still get news from the New York Times or the Washington Post, let me save you the suspense: You’re not reading journalism. You’re consuming PR fluff for billionaires who treat facts like toddlers treat crayons — chewed up and spit out in colorful nonsense.

The latest fallout between Donald Trump and Colombia’s President Gustavo Petro is the perfect case study of how our once-venerable media has become Fox News with better punctuation.

A Tale of Two Stories

Recently, Trump and Colombian President Gustavo Petro got into a spat over immigration. On Sunday, Petro refused to allow a US military aircraft carrying Colombian deportees to land in Colombia. The plane was forced to return to the US. Grandaddy Trump was pissed.

Trump responded like a naive puppy, treating allies like chew toys. Of course, he threatened to slap steep tariffs on Colombian imports if Petro didn’t accept deportation flights.
