Time will tell but I predict a democratization of art will downgrade art. As I already stated, having more options doesn’t make for better ones. We will instead get a proliferation of bad art (and a lot of messed up hands). Most of AI art makes a copy of a copy of a copy. That is the very essence of downgrading.

Btw, the “democratization of art” is a phrase coined by the tech bros and AI image companies to defend their stance on stealing art from past artists. And frankly, it is an argument that is getting really old. But when in the history of humanity have technocrats ever respected artists.

I am happy that you have a tool to express your creativity without needing artistic skill. But maybe there’s a reason some people draw stick figures while others create masterpieces. When everyone becomes an artist, no one is an artist.
