The reason dating apps have the wrong age is because they connect to your social media accounts for verification. Everyone knows you should never put your real birthdate on social media. It’s inviting identity theft. My age is listed as one year prior and a different birthday month and date.

I don’t bring this to anyone’s attention on my profile though. And I am not sure why the big age discrepancy. Maybe they are choosing a bigger gap so they won’t get pinned in a particular demographic.

Once you give your birthdate on any social media platform, you are exposing yourself to marketers. Not everyone wants that.
