The Real Reason Musk Freaked Out Over a Bipartisan Bill

Hint: It has nothing to do with budget cuts.

Another disaster was averted last week after Elon Musk killed a bipartisan bill with all the subtlety of one of his exploding rockets. In what we can only assume was a ketamine-fueled freak-off, Musk bombed X with 100+ unhinged posts. Many of his posts were downright delusional.

And by delusional, I mean complete lies.

Musk told his MAGA-X bros that Congress was getting a 40% pay increase. (It was a measly 3.8% — the standard raise.) He then claimed the bill was “funding bioweapon labs.” (Complete lie. We can’t even stop a drone invasion.) And then, to really send his base into rabid paroxysms, he claimed the bill allocated $3 billion for a new NFL stadium in Washington, D.C., “funded by your tax dollars.” (Reality check: the bill merely hands over jurisdiction of RFK Stadium to D.C. and spells out clearly that no federal dollars can be used.)

Bottom line: Musk‘s propaganda machine spewed some crazy poisoned sludge for his followers to lick up. And, of course, his fans believed his lies.

More bizarrely, Trump demanded an increase in the debt ceiling — a move on no one’s apocalypse Bingo card. Of course, we all know that asking for the debt ceiling increase was just a…
