That's funny. I don't see it that way. I see two people who liked each other when there wasn't scrutiny from the outside. And then they both struggled to remain authentic to those feelings once placed in a caste system. There wouldnt be much of a plot if they didn't at first faulter. But in the end, they choose each other.
