Sadly, I don't think this is a Medium problem. If anything, Medium polices sensationalism and "if it bleeds it ledes" types of pieces more than traditional journalism. But I do agree that humans are losing civility. I say the same thing to the meanness I see online, "you would never say that to my face." Words hurt. Perhaps we now get out our predilection for violence with our fingers instead of fists.
