No, I don't think it was disrespectful to throw them away. You needed those pictures at the time to process your grief. But after we are done processing a death, the body is just well,... a body. Maybe that is why you decided to toss them?

Our minds are the most accurate memory keepers. I don't think a photo can ever capture the way we felt for a loved one.

Looking at these death portraits made me feel empty too. Curious but still empty.
