My 17 year old daughter told me that students were not allowed to discuss the election in the classroom. I completely understand why teachers should not sway political opinions but they could have at least judiciously discussed policies. We have separation of church and state (for now) but we also have a separation of rogue memorization of facts and what those facts mean - i.e. critical thinking. European schools do not have this problem.
