Lorrae, you make some great points and as a woman who always ends up in relationships with men 10+ years younger, I appreciate it.

But teen pregnancies are not an "epidemic." The complete opposite is happening. Teen pregnancies have been plummeting in the last decade, enough for scientists to fear we are smack in the middle of an infertility crisis that may be too late to reverse.

Humans are built for survival. Men and women choose younger people because younger people are more fertile and our environment is destroying our fertility. The preference for younger people will get more pronounced (in both genders) as fewer people are fertile.
