Linguistic Policing is the Left’s Favorite Way to Lose Elections
Democrats are killing democracy one canceled clown at a time.
The other day, a man on Facebook — let’s call him Clown Boy— issued a liberal PSA.
“Stop calling Donald Trump a ‘clown,’” he demanded.
Clown Boy had just returned from his “travels abroad,” which suddenly made him an expert on authoritarianism. He warned that calling Dear Leader a “clown” was dangerous because it diminished Trump’s “existentialist threat.”
Clearly, Clown Boy has some unresolved trauma involving red noses.
But he didn’t stop there. They never do. He then urged his fellow Democrats to call out (read: shame) anyone who called Trump a “clown” because these people do not grasp the gravitas America faces.
I don’t know about you, but when someone takes everyday words and tells me I can no longer use them, my inner bratty teen rears her hormonal head.
My response:
Trump is a one‑man clown show without the clown car and clown friends.
Trump is a three‑ring spectacle of clown chaos, minus the safety net.
Trump is so clownish that calling him anything but a clown feeds the existentialist dread and gives him more power than he deserves.
