I love all your suggestions. I also really wish that Medium would allow authors to promote our books. Just a simple line at the end - if you liked this content, you might enjoy the book. Like many authors, I have so many deleted chapters from books that I use in my articles. I don't understand why I can't tell people that. "This is a deleted chapter...if you want more then go here."

Publishing is so damn hard. And it's not enough to just have talent now. You also have to promote like crazy. I could see Medium attracting a higher caliber of writers if they allowed authors to promote their books. I was under the impression that they might be headed in that direction. Here's hoping...

And just to be clear, if any of my publishers ever gave me any bonus, I would fall out of my chair. And those publishers have a lot more money to work with. So yes, the gesture was appreciated.
