I apologize for the insensitivity. My friends and I have far more stability in our lives because we come from unbroken families. We also have the financial freedom and the time to date since we are successful in our careers. Some of us even have fabulous relationships with our ex-husbands and 50/50 custody.

And here is where you are really going to hate me…smart parents tend to breed smart kids. Mine are straight-A students, so I don’t even have to do homework with them. When other parents are struggling to keep their kids in school, I am on the edge of the couch popping grapes in my mouth, drinking top-shelf bourbon, and contemplating the existentialist crisis that has become modern love. I have it rough!

Yes, I agree. Men should be screening out women who are not in the same situation. If you don’t have someone doing half the parenting, you should not be dating. If you are resolving trauma issues, you should not be dating. If you have young children that you have to financially support, you should not be dating.

Bottom line: If you only have time for your child, you should not be dating. (But you should always find time to attack strangers online. Because that is a vital use of your time.)
