Hi Carrera28, You are right about the Rambo movies. As someone who grew up in the 90s when we actually had to go to dvd stores...my childhood was riddled with Rambo. It is a memory that is ingrained in my mind on who many of the men around me emulated. But although the movies were popular in the 90s, it is the 80s when they were actually made. (I will edit to fix. Thanks for catching that.)

Bruce Lee - this is a thorny subject. I do admire Lee (my next book is on him) and he was certainly not a saint. No, scratch that. He sucked as a husband.

I still think he is a positive role model for young men with too much aggression. His philosophies are completely different from the westernized ideals of masculinity.

The dying young part - we could pour a cocktail and debate that one for hours. Sadly, we do lionize those that died young. But we also have to remember that with age comes wisdom (hopefully) and those that died young never got the chance to full cook their souls.
