Great article, Acamea. I was just having this same conversation with my sister about a month ago when we googled “dating coaches.” We were thinking of starting a podcast. That dream died when I saw that all the top dating coaches were men. I began to wonder if women would prefer advice from men? Do they control the patent to some secret sauce on how relationships work?

And as a side note, I do think Hussey (like you already stated) should not be clumped with the rest of the smarmy male dating coaches. He offers advice from both genders and despite the name of his book, most of his advice focuses on determining whether you want the guy in the first place. Coming from the book world, I would not be surprised if a sales team forced that title on him.
